Singapore Overtime Calculator
Estimate Singapore overtime pay with MOM-style monthly salary assumptions, editable overtime hours, employee type context, and rest day or public holiday fields.
How the Singapore overtime calculator works
The Singapore overtime calculator is built around common MOM search intent: monthly basic salary, normal weekly hours, overtime hours, and a 1.5x overtime assumption. It estimates an hourly basic rate by annualizing monthly basic salary and dividing by 52 weeks and the normal working hours entered by the user.
Singapore overtime eligibility is not automatic for every employee. MOM guidance discusses Part 4 coverage and salary thresholds for workmen and non-workmen, so the employee type field is included as a visible reminder. This tool does not classify a worker or decide whether statutory overtime applies.
Singapore overtime calculator formula
This formula mirrors the kind of salary-to-hourly conversion users often need before checking MOM guidance. It is intentionally editable because actual pay arrangements and statutory coverage can change the right calculation.
MOM also discusses limits on overtime hours and exceptions. If a monthly schedule approaches the cited overtime-hour limit, review official MOM pages instead of relying only on a simple calculator output.
estimatedHourlyBasicRate = monthlyBasicSalary x 12 / 52 / normalWeeklyHours
overtimePay = overtimeHours x estimatedHourlyBasicRate x overtimeMultiplier
restDayEstimate = restDayHours x estimatedHourlyBasicRate x restDayMultiplier
publicHolidayEstimate = publicHolidayHours x estimatedHourlyBasicRate x holidayMultiplier
totalEstimate = overtimePay + restDayEstimate + publicHolidayEstimateSingapore monthly salary example
Suppose a worker enters SGD 2,500 monthly basic salary, 44 normal hours per week, and 10 overtime hours. The estimated hourly basic rate is about SGD 13.11. At 1.5x, the tool estimates about SGD 196.68 in overtime pay for those 10 hours.
If rest day or public holiday work is being estimated, enter those hours separately. Rest day and holiday treatment can involve different rules, so a single overtime-hour field is not enough for every Singapore payroll scenario.
MOM coverage and salary threshold notes
MOM materials should be reviewed for Part 4 coverage, workman and non-workman salary thresholds, hours of work, rest day rules, and overtime limits. This page can show arithmetic after you enter assumptions, but it does not answer the eligibility question.
The default 44 normal weekly hours reflects common Singapore overtime search behavior, not a guarantee that every employment contract uses that number. Edit the weekly hours field if the worker's normal working hours differ.
What this Singapore calculator does not decide
This page does not determine whether a person is covered by Part 4 of the Employment Act, whether overtime approval was valid, whether rest day work was requested by the employer, or whether public holiday pay should be handled under a different method. It also does not calculate CPF, income tax, levies, or exact payroll deductions.
Use the result as an educational MOM-style estimate, then compare the assumptions with the employment contract, wage records, and official MOM sources.
International overtime calculators
Use these country and region pages to compare local overtime assumptions without treating one jurisdiction as a universal rule. Each page links to official labor sources and keeps the calculator inputs editable because contracts, worker categories, industry rules, and public-sector rules may change the result.
